Religiously unaffiliated continue to support Obama
Sixty-two percent of voters unaffiliated with any religion plan to vote for Obama/Biden ticket according to a new poll out by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.
Since August 10th the number of unaffiliated registered voters supporting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has risen 2% while the number of religiously unaffiliated supporting Republican candidate John McCain has dropped 2% for a total of 25%.
The largest gap in the polls between the two major party candidates is among black protestants registered voters; 90% support Obama while only 4% support McCain. The gap in support among registered evangelical voters is also sizeable; McCain leads by 71%, while Obama has 21% supporting his candidacy.
