11% of Voters Say They Don't Have a Religion
According to CNN , eleven percent of Americans surveyed after voting on November 4th responded "none" when asked about their religion. This constituency went for Obama 76 percent to 22 percent. Sixty-seven percent of those who "never" attend church also voted for Obama.
Among whites with "no religion," seventy-one percent voted for Obama.
Among voters surveyed, 54 percent identified themselves as Protestant. They went for McCain by 54 percent to 45 percent.
While some Catholic bishops stressed the Church's opposition to abortion rights as the most-important issue for the faithful to consider, Catholics — who made up 26 percent of the voters today — went for Obama 54 percent to 45 percent.
Jewish voters — 2 percent of the electorate today — went heavily for Obama: 78 percent to 21 percent.
